Annual Day and Honours' Evening (7th Feb 2018)

Mayor World School celebrated its Annual  function  titled “Honours’ Evening” in the School premises with full enthusiasm on 7th February, 2018 for the students of  Grades VI-XII.  All the winners and toppers who had notched the positions in academics, sports and extracurricular activities throughout the year were awarded prizes.


The Chief Guest for the day was Mr. Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh, AIG, Punjab. The School Chairman Mr. Rajesh Mayor, Vice Chairperson Mrs. Neerza Mayor and Deputy Head  Mr. Sumit Puri were the other dignitaries present on the occasion.


The function started with the Tilak Ceremony followed by Lighting of the Lamp and invoking God’s blessings.  The guests were cordially welcomed by the Welcome Speech. The programme initiated by the School anthem well sung by the School choir. This was followed by the mesmerising Shiv Tandav Dance describing Lord Shiva’s power and beauty.


The Annual Report gave a detailed description of all the events and accomplishments like academics, sports, co-curricular activities, new ventures, workshops, exhibitions, camps, fairs and celebrations of the session 2016-17. The high achievers excelling in various fields be it sports, like golf, chess, cricket etc. or academics like Olympiads, Inter School Debates and other competitions were also felicitated by the Chief Guest.


The most enthralling item of the programme was the Fusion Dance, combining different dance styles to create a new aesthetic dance form. It was typically improvised and had a lead and follow approach, with the dancers adapting their dance style to the musical influence.


The prize distribution ceremony was held to felicitate the students who followed the school’s motto     ‘ Inspiring Excellence’. Another highlight of the day was the medley which had a collection of different patriotic songs, beautifully assorted and presented. Another item that drew attention of the guests was the Bhangra Dance.


The Chief Guest eulogised the essence and enactment of the programme and the hard work put in by the staff and students. He inspired the students to further their goals with greater diligence. He appreciated the education system being pursued by the school and further encouraged the other schools to follow the pursuit. The Chief Guest was presented a token of appreciation by the management. The vote of thanks was extended in the end thanking, appreciating and expressing gratitude to everyone who had been a part of the function.


The event concluded with serving of delicious dinner to guests, parents and students.
