Celebration Annual Sport Day ( Grades I to V ) 28th Nov 2015

Sports are a quintessential element of every student's life. In the humdrum of learning and assimilating, sports provide that extra element of fun, relaxation and ambition. The inherent and latent qualities that games and sports inculcate go a long way in enhancing an impressionable personality.
Continuing its relentless efforts towards this endeavor, Mayor World School organized its Annual Sports Day on the 28 of November 2015 under the theme ' Incredible India'. The event was a combination of several track and field events and more than 400 students from grades I to V displayed immense stamina and mettle in the field. The students also put up an impressive cultural show.
The program commenced with the arrival of the chief guest Mr. Yurinder Singh Hayer, Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar. Our School Chairman Mr. Rajesh Mayor, Vice Chairperson Mrs. Neerza Mayor, Director Ms. Jyoti Nagranee and Principal Mr. J. S. Hundal were the esteemed dignitaries present on the occasion.
The event opened with a welcome address followed by a meticulous display of March past. The students exhibited their agility through sports events like Karate-Oroshi, Renzuki and Tsuki Waza, gymnastics and Aerobics. The various extensive yoga exercises displayed by them stood in testimony to their flexibility. There were a lot of fun games organized for the parents and students in which they participated with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. The Pom Pom Drill presented by the students of grade II was very novel and interesting.
The students participated in several track and field events like athletics, high jump, throw ball, long jump, gliding race and skating.
The play based on the life and success of India's Badminton queen Saina Nehwal, inspired both the parents and students. From her experience everyone learnt that parents and the school definitely play a very vital role in not only the growth and development but also the success of their children.
The evening included the Prize Distribution ceremony by the Principal. He further remarked that the students must expedite their efforts to outshine in sports, academics and extra curricular activities as they were essential in the holistic development of the children.  The Chief Guest was thoroughly impressed by the various presentations and appreciated the students for such immense talent. He also applauded the School's efforts in harboring and nurturing this talent among its students.


The kaleidoscope of activity concluded with a set of colorful dance performances displaying a spectrum of folk dances. The guests and parents were invited for high tea at the end of the program.
