Christmas Celebrations (23rd Dec'16)

 Today as part of Christmas celebrations students of Mayor World School, Jalandhar conducted a special Assembly based on “Christmas”. The students were beautifully dressed in red and white, sang acted and danced with loads of joy and confidence. The students mesmerized the audience with a scintillating dance performance on the foot taping number “Jingle Bells” and story of birth of Jesus was enacted beautifully.  The choir presented their beautiful rendition of the famous carol “Silent Night”. The Principal congratulated the students as well as appreciated the efforts of the teachers.


An Inter-House Gift Wrapping and Christmas Decoration Competition was also organized. The main idea was to provide a platform for students of Grades VI- X   to display their vivid ideas, imaginative and competitive skills and get them into the holiday spirit. It was a day where we saw creativity exploding at every corner of the school. The participants used candles, Christmas trees, gifts, mistletoe, reindeers made of cardboard, snowmen, bells and colourful lights to transform the school into a spectacle of colour and joy. The gift wrapping contestants displayed their aesthetic and artistic skills by wrapping empty boxes with glittering and decorative material. To top it all the classrooms were tastefully and beautifully decorated with Christmas Trees, balloons and streamers.


The Vice Chairperson Ms. Neerza Mayor, the Principal applauded the students for their enthusiasm and innovative ideas. They encouraged them to participate in school activities and widen their horizons.


The Judges Ms. Reena, Ms. Anuja and Ms. Radhika had a difficult task ahead of them and judged the Competition on the following parameters- innovation, materials used and overall presentation. The winner of this Competition was Dickens House followed by Shakespeare House in the Second Position and for the third position there was a tie between Keats and Wordsworth House.
