District Chess Championship ( 17th April 2017 )

Mayor World School hosted the two-days Jalandhar District Chess Championship, in association with Jalandhar Chess Association.

Nearly 160 participants from Jalandhar district took part in the championship under various categories.

The culmination event that comprised of prize distribution ceremony was graced by Sh. Raj Karan singh (DRM, Central Bank of India) and Sh. Rajinder Singh (Secretary, Punjab Chess Association). The Principal Mr. J.S. Hundal and the dignitaries awarded trophies to the winners amongst various categories. The first position in all categories was clinched by the following.

Mannat amongst girls, Samarath Singh and Mantaj Singh amongst boys received the award for being the youngest players of the tournament.

To encourage the students some consolation prizes were also given away to Amay, Alisha, Kushagra Jain, Aarohi, Shrest Suri and Vasundhara Rathore.

In their addres the Principal and the dignitaries applauded the effort of the students and motivated them to take theirb game ahead. They said consistency and concentration can help children to do their best.
