Farewell Function (22nd February 2019)

No matter whichever phase of life we are in, nothing ever beats school life. The School farewell is one of the most emotional days of a student’s life. The happiness of stepping into a new world is mixed with the sadness of leaving behind friends and a carefree life. Farewell is all about smiling faces with tearful eyes.

An afternoon full of enthralling performances was organised at Mayor World School, on 22nd February, 2019, to bid farewell to the outgoing Grade XII students. The students of Grade-XI presented brilliant acts, dances and arranged entertaining games for their seniors. The students, who came dressed up in resplendent Indian formal wear, looked ravishingly entrancing.

A ‘Bhajan’ was presented to seek the blessings for the students, a couple of fun games lightened the atmosphere. Dance and musical performances by the Mayorites added charm to the occasion. The fun titles,  given to all the outgoing students were humorous and entertaining and the reactions associating them brought back reminiscences of each student’s personal journey of the past 17 years. The whole environment was nostalgic, loving and emotional. The speeches by the School Head Boy and Head Girl were touching as they mirrored upon many memorable incidents of their School life.

The Ramp walk, by the outgoing students, was appreciated and applauded by all. A brain storming session took place when the jury asked them questions. The highest scoreres grabbed various titles. Aneet Kaur and Abheer Mahajan lifted the titles of Ms. Mayorite and Mr. Mayorite respectively. Nehmat Patpatia won the  title of Ms. Charming whereas Aman Dhiman received the title of Mr. Handsome. The Best Outfit Female and Male were given to Sumedha Bhandari and Arsh Khanna.

The function was presided over by our Vice Chairperson Mrs. Neerza Mayor, and the Principal Ms. Suman Rana who gave their blessings and wished good luck to the outgoing class for their future endeavours. The Principal mentioned that bidding adieu are always difficult but it’s important for the everyone to start living their dreams. The students were encouraged to work hard and leave no stone unturned to come out with flying colours in their life.

The programme culminated with ‘Bhangra’. Later, the students and staff were served with scrumptious lunch.
