In recognition of the cognitive and behavioural benefits of chess, Mayor World School is always committed to support chess programmes.


The school is proud to announce the achievements of its top chess player Tanmay Jain of Grade IV.


Beginning with his chain of achievements in the recent past, he bagged first position in U-17, boys category in National Amateur Chess Championship which was held in Delhi from 5th to 11th November, 2017. This achievement was even more remarkable as 260 players from different states participated in this championship.


At the national level, our little grand master was ranked among the top 20 players out of 170 players in U-11 category held at Pune from 22nd to 30th November,2017.


Maintaining his iron grip over the game he stood second in U-10 category in IIFL Wealth Mumbai International Chess Tournament U-13. There were 276 players from 31 different countries.


Culminating his list of achievements, Tanmay has been awarded a mug signed by the legendary chess champion Vishwanathan Anand for the best game played against WIM Divya Deshmukh (India’s number 1 in U-13) for round 6 in Mumbai.
