Debate is one of the academic activities that gives students creative room to express what they feel. The knowledge that they gain through this is simply unparalleled.

In keeping with the traditions of continuous and comprehensive growth of children, Inter-House competitions are always organized at the forefront of Co-Scholastic activities at Mayor World School, Jalandhar.

An inter-house Hindi debate was held today in the school premises for grades VI – VIII. Two participants from each of the four houses; Dickens, Keats, Shakespeare and Wordsworth participated enthusiastically and exhibited their oratory skills. They put forth their views for and against the topic ‘Industrialization is responsible for the Global Warming: YES or NO?’

The competition was organized with the aim of promoting proficiency in articulation of thought and public speaking. The participants, armed with statistics and data made their arguments more emphatic with their righteous facial expressions, body movement and gestures.

Roshini Bhatia and Charanasees  representing Shakespeare’s house were declared the winners, followed by Sjonum and Arshia from Keats house. Harshita Nayyar of Wordsworth house was declared as the best speaker.

Principal Mr. J.S.Hundal honoured the winning team and applauded the sincere efforts put in by the participants .  He also emphasized that how important it is to save our environment as the Global Warming is gradually leading us towards the depletion of our resources as well as towards environmental disasters. Nature is our mother and we need to respect it and protect it.
