Inter House Punjabi Poetry Recitation and Debate Competition ( 30 Jan'16 )




 


Mayor World School organized a Punjabi Poetry Recitation Competition for classes VI –VIII on the topic “Rishtey ‘’. Each one the four Houses Shakespeare, Keats, Wordsworth and Dickens was represented by one participant. They all spoke on the value of relationships ; be it mother child , relatives or neighbours . They emphasized on the importance of the mother in a child’s life as she is protective towards her children sacrificing every moment of hers .The participants embodied the role of the mother in a child’s life and glorified it through their poetry .


The Inter House Punjabi Debate competition was for grades IX – XII. There were two participants from each House. One participant spoke in favour and the other spoke against the motion. The topic of the debate was ‘Improvement in Relations Between India and Pakistan’.


The Director Ms. Jyoti Nagranee and the Principal Mr. J.S. Hundal graced the occasion. The students who spoke in favour of the motion said that both the countries have same cultural and historical backgrounds. Both the countries even have same religious places which the people of these countries visit.


The students speaking against the motion spoke of the different attacks in Mumbai and Pathankot resulting in the massive damage to life and property. The students were encouraged by the Principal to take part in such competitions and hone their talent. He also said that it was a great learning platform for the students and encouraged them to keep their knowledge upto date to move at par with the ever growing society.
