Rangoli Competition ( 25 Oct'16 )

Indian festivals are the occasions for great joy and celebration. To usher the fervour of Diwali – the festival of lights and colours, MWS expressed cultural mannerism and hospitality by organizing an interhouse Rangoli competition (Category Grades VI-VIII) on October 25, 2016.

Keeping in mind this traditional art and to encourage it, the participants of the four houses created exotic designs for the theme ‘Festivals’. Not only did they express through their art the beautiful way to decorate but also the religious and cultural meanings. The participants used mirrors, petals, earthen lamps, and colours.

The energy levels and the excitement of the participants was over-whelming, and it also turned out to be a herculean task for the judges too. However Shakespeare House, represented by Dhawni and Khayati created an eye capturing design on ‘Eco-Dipawali’ and bagged the 1st position. Dickens House represented by Vasundhara and Sanya depicted the ‘Spirit of Navratri’ through their rangoli and secured the 2nd position, followed by Wordsworth and Keats House respectively.
