District Open Tennis Tournament (13th-14th October 2018)

 

Three new stars shone on the horizon of tennis. This time the benchmark has been set by the junior Mayorites.

 

In District Open Tennis Tournament, organised by Singh’s Sports Academy, Jalandhar on 13th -14th October, 2018.

 

• Krishav (II) bagged 1st position in U-7 category amongst 8 participants.
• Naman (II) clinched 2nd position in U-8 category amongst 8 participants.
• Medhansh (III) received 4th position in U-9 category amongst 8 participants.

CKC North India Karate championship held on 14th October 2018 at Adarsh Palace Jalandhar. Mayorites participated with enthusiasm and bagged several medals in various categories. We are proud to announce that all 16 participants brought laurels to their Alma mater.

Punjab State Shotgun Shooting Championship (5th - 12th October 2018)

 

The Shotgun Star-Mayorite Harmeher

Big shots are only little shots who keep shooting.

With faith in his talent and fire in his soul, Harmehar Singh Lally (VIII) participated in Skeet Shooting Junior Men, U-21 category , under the aegis of Punjab State Shotgun Shooting Championship held in Moti Bagh Gun Club, Patiala.

It makes us proud to announce that the young Mayorite brought laurels to the School by clinching a gold medal in the competition.

Success is never accidental, it takes sweat, determination and hard work .

 

A young and proud Mayorite.,Harmehar  Singh Lally of grade VIII brought laurel and glory to the School by winning  a gold medal  in Skeet Shooting  Junior Men  in U-21 category held under the aegis of Punjab State Shotgun Shooting  Championship on 18th August  2018 in Moti Bagh Gun Club Patiala.

Rabdeep Singh (X)  bagged the runners up trophy u-18 boys in Open Lawn Tennis Tournament held at Jalandhar Gymkhana Club from 17th-19th August,2018.

 

The Vice Chairperson Ms. Neerza Mayor and the Principal applauded his hard work and congratulated the proud parents.

We are proud to inform that Pihu Dua of Mayor World School participated in District Rifile shooting championship held at Jalandhar on 11th and 12th of July.She bagged Gold medal for the district in 10 metre air rifle shooting.

Inter House Volleyball Match (14th May 2018)

 

Keats Won the Inter House Volleyball Match


Mayor World School ‘s ground witnessed spine chilling neck to neck matches held amongst the four Houses on May 14-15, 2018.


In the first round between Keats and Dickens, Keats remained victorious whereas amongst Wordsworth and Shakespeare the Shakespeare House emerged as winner.


On the last day, Keats House and Shakespeare House fought a rigorous match for the first position and Keats House knocked the Shakespeare House out to the second position amongst the roaring and cheering crowd of spectators.

 

The third position was clinched by Dickens House whereas Wordsworth remained at the fourth position.

 

The students from Grades IX-XII witnessed the matches with great enthusiasm and zeal and left no chance to cheer up their House.

ASIAN YOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP (1st April 2018)

 

Mayor World once again applauds the achievements of our dear Mayorite, Tanmay Jain.

CM(Candidate Master), Tanmay Jain won two gold medals for India in the Asian Youth Chess Championship held from 1st April 2018 to 10th April, 2018. Chiangnai, Thailand.


One gold in rapid team Chess Championship and one gold in Beitz team Chess Championship. Total 19 countries participated from all over Asia- India, Iran, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Philippine, Malaysia, UAE, Mongolia, Korea, Tapal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Singapore.


In IISL, Wealth 3rd Mumbai Junior International Chess Championship held from 30th December, 2017 to 7th January, 2018 in Mumbai, Tanmay bagged second position in Under 10 boys.


He was awarded medal of Game of the day for his win against WIM Divya Deshmukh.

True Vision Junior Golf Championship (3rd April 2018)

 

Sucess doesn't come easy. It takes hard work, determination and sweat to be successful.

Mayorite Kuldeep Singh Dhesi (VI) added another feather in the cap by clinching 4th runner up position in the D category of the True Vision Junior Golf Championship held from 3rd April to 5th April, 2018.


The tournament was organised by Slam Country Club, Thailand in which nearly 40 participants exhibited their talent

Mission Golf Accomplished by Mayorites

In the 4th Mission Olympics Golf Cup organised by Mission Olympic Golf and Sports Society (Punjab), Mayorites fetched laurels for the School. Three Mayorites won 1st position in their respective categories in the tournament held on 18th March, 2018 at the Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala.

# Noor Randhawa (V) clinched 1st position in D category.

# Vibhanshu Damathia (IX) grabbed 1st position in B category for the ‘ Straight Drive’ 

# Ryan Bharadwaj (VII) secured 1st position in’C category for ‘Nearest to the Pin’.

All India AITA National Ranking Tennis Tournament (5th February 2018)

 

Tennis- the game of agility, promptness and patience  is forte of Mayorites.

 

The Array of achievements is contunued for the year and another feather in the cal is the performance on Mayorites in AITA-National Ranking Tennis Tournament that was organised by Singha Sports Academy, Jalandhar on February 5, 2018.

 

Kashvi and Rubab from Grade VII bagged 1st position in the tournament in U-14(Girls doubles)category and brought laurels to the School.

With immense pleasure, we announce that Mayorites Kashvi Aggarwal (VII),  participated in U-14 and Ajeet Singh (VI) participated in U-10 category of Inter School Open Tennis Tournament held from  26-28 January,2018, under the flag of Akon Tennis Academy and clinched first positions in their respective categories.

SOCCER ACHIEVEMENT (18th to 20th January2018 )

 

Mayorites participated in Sahodaya Soccer Tournament U-14 category at M.G.N Public School, Adarsh Nagar on 18th to 20th January 2018. 

 

We are pleased to announce that our players under the guidance of Mr. Manpreet Singh(Soccer Coach) bagged third position after beating the teams of Apeejay School and Gems Cambridge School.

REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENT BY THE MAYORITES (8th to 10th JANUARY 2018)

 

Congratulations are in order again for the Mayorite Girls who played in the Women Tennis State Championship U-25 held at Sangrur from 8th to 10th January 2018.  The girls performed well and with great sportsmanship. Aneet from Grade XI and Kashvi from Grade VII showed huge fighting spirit and walked away with Silver medals and cash prize after a fantastic performance which saw them win all of their matches.

Women Tennis Championship U-25 (6th January 2018)

 

Challenges grow the abilities and increase the opportunities.

The trials for State Women Tennis Championship (U-25) were held at Burlton park, Jalandhar, in which number of students from different schools participated.

Mayorites Aneet Kaur of Grade XI who has been a brilliant performer, took the opportunity and got selected as the first player (Captain) of Jalandhar team (U-25).

She displayed her great endurance, strength, skills and coordination.

Another Mayorite Kashvi from Grade VII became the 3rd player, the youngest in the team

 

The Vice Chairperson Ms Neerza Mayor appreciated the efforts and motivated them for the higher achievements.

Women's District Tennis Championship  (21st & 22nd Dec 2017)

 

Aneet Kaur (XI), Kashvi (VII), Prabjot(VI), Rubaab(VII) participated in Women's District Tennis Championship in under 25 category organised by Sports department Punjab /Punjab state Sports Council from 21st December to 22nd December 2017 at Burlton Park ,Jalandhar.  8 teams comprising of 32 players from renowned schools /academies competed. We feel proud to share that they clinched the first position and won Gold Medal. Congratulations to proud parents.

Mayorites have had a clean sweep in Open State Ranking Tennis Tournament, organised in Euro Kids, Shiv Vihar. The competition was organised by Gurukul Tennis Academy from 8-10 December. Amongst 32 participants from various schools, the following students clinched various titles:

# Ajeet Singh (VI) participated in two different categories i.e. U-10 and U-12. As a matter of proud he bagged 1st position in both the categories.

# Kashvi Aggarwal (VII) clinched 1st position in U-12 category.

# Rubab Kaur (VII) bagged 2nd position in U-12 category.

# Prabhjot Kaur (VII) won 3rd position in U-12 category.

In Jalandhar District Open State Ranking Tennis Tournament, organised by Model Town Tennis Academy from 24-26 November, amongst 144 participants, the following Mayorites bagged various positions under different categories.

# Harneet Kaur (VI) bagged 1st position in U-10 Mix category.

# Jaideep Singh (V) clinched 3rd position in U-10 Mix category.

With his wings spread wide open, he is soaring high in the skies of Chess.

Mayorite Tanmay Jain added yet another feather to the cap of his School by making his place in ‘Top 20s ‘ at the National level in U-11 category.

 

He made to this achievement in Pune Chess Festival, held from 22nd to 30th November, amongst 170 participants representing various states.

Sahodaya Inter School Tennis Tournament (22nd & 24th Nov'17)

 

Mayor World has always provided a platform for the budding players. The School organized Sahodaya Inter School Tennis Tournament from 22nd to 24th November, 2017. The tournament was culminated with much fervor and joy.

 

Fifteen schools participated in the tournament from Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Nawashahar and Phagwara. The participants played enthusiastically in their respective categories.

 

In under 14 age group (Girls), Mayor World School, Jalandhar clinched the 1st position, followed by Cambridge International School for Girls at 2nd position and the 3rd position was shared by CT Public School and M.G.N. Urban Estate, Phase-2.

 

In under 14 age group (Boys), Apeejay School, Jalandhar clinched the 1st position, followed by Mayor World School, Jalandhar at 2nd position and the 3rd position was shared by M.G.N. Urban Estate, Phase-2 and Cambridge Co-Educational School.

 

In under 19 age group (Boys), Cambridge Co-educational School, Jalandhar clinched the 1st position, followed by M.G.N. Urban Estate, phase-2 at 2nd position and 3rd position was shared by Seth Hukum Chand School and M.G.N. Adarsh Nagar.

 

In under 19 age group (Girls) Cambridge International School for Girls, Jalandhar clinched 1st position, followed by Mayor World School, Jalandhar at 2nd position and 3rd position was shared by L.J.N. DAV School and M.G.N. Urban Estate, phase-2.

 

The overall trophy was bagged by Mayor World School, Jalandhar, by winning One Gold Medal and Two Silver Medals.

 

The Principal Mr. J.S. Hundal presided over the prize distribution function, felicitated the winners and applauded their enthusiasm. He admired the sportsmanship of the players and wished them good luck for their future.

Punjab State Tennis Championship (17th to 20th Nov 2017)

 

Aneet Kaur Hundal of grade XI participated in Punjab State Tennis Championship for girls under 19 category, organised by Punjab School Games Committee at Mohali from 17th to 20th November 2017. We feel proud to share that she clinched the first position (Gold Medal) by beating the Ludhiana team in the final match of the championship. She has been selected for Nationals and will represent Punjab State at the National Tennis Championship to be held at Delhi from 4th to 9th December 2017. This will be her 4th National participation in last 4 consecutive years. It’s a proud moment for all Mayorites.

International Junior Golf Championship (7th-10th Nov 2017)

 

At the age when children are busy playing virtual games, engaged with friends, Kuldeep Singh Dhesi (V) is committed to take the world in his stride. 

Kuldeep, once again, made everyone proud by clinching 2nd runner up position in category D, in 9th Albatross International Junior Golf Championship held in Gurugram from 7th-10th November, 2017.

In Punjab State Amateur Fide Rated Chess Championship, held at Bhawanigarh from 27-29 October,2017, Tanmay Jain (V) proved his mattel again. In open category, he bagged First position amongst 103 participants.

A black belt is the white belt that never gave up.”

The School is proud to announce that Mayorites proved their mattle once again as Gaurish of Grade III and Luvjus of Grade V bagged 3rd position, whereas Udayvir of Grade IV clinched 2nd position in (8-11 yrs. category) in CKC India Karate Championship, organised by Cobra Karate Center Jalandhar.

International Chess Tournament held at Udaipur (24-29 Aug 2017)

Tanmay Jain of grade V participated in Pandiyar Memorial International Open FIDE Rated Chess Tournament held at Udaipur, Rajastan from 24th to 29th August 2017. We feel proud to share that Tanmay bagged 2nd position by scoring 6.5 points Rating Range between 1400 - 1600. 265 participants from 17 states participated in the Tournament.

Little Master Golf Junior Tournament (11th & 12th August 2017)

Mayorite Zorawar Singh Star (VIII) bagged second position in Little Master Golf Junior Tournament organised by Faisal Qureshi Group, in Gurugram on 11-12 August, 2017.

 He bagged this position and brought laurels to the school in catergory B by defeating 28 participants from renowned institutions.

Punjab State Junior Chess Championship (12th Aug 2017)

Games takes off in primaries as a way to lure pupils away from their phone screens. Chess often known as a game for the intellectually gifted, is the best sport to exercise the most important organ in our body: the brain. To stimulate the IQ of students, Punjab State junior Chess Championship under 19 was organized by Jalandhar Chess Association in collaboration with Mayor World School on 12th and 13th August 2017. More than 90 students from different districts participated in the competition. 

 

Present on the occasion were Special Guest the Principal Mr. J.S. Hundal, Dr. Munish Thapar, Secretary Jalandhar District Chess Association, Mr. Rajender Sharma, Secretary Punjab Chess Association, Mr Kirti Sharma, Treasure Jalandhar Chess Association, Mr Sapan Bedi promoter from Everwhere Industry and Ms. Sumidha Aggarwal, Vastushastra expert.

 

Various prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners separately under the different categories.  

 

Under Boys category Karanveer Singh from Jalandhar bagged the first position, Arman Arora from Amritsar stood second, Raghav Juneja from Fazilka stood third and Sehaj Arora from Amritsar bagged fourth position.

 

Under Girls category Lavanya Jain from Jalandhar bagged the first position, Priyanka Vashisht from Ludhiana stood second, Kanann Jain from Jalandhar stood third and Savi Julka from Jalandhar bagged fourth position.

 

Divyam Puri and Aarav Sharma of Mayor World School bagged the Consolation prize.

 

Mr. Munish Thappar gave away the Guest of Honor Trophy to Mr. J.S. Hundal, our worthy Principal and to Ms. Sumidha Aggarwal.

In the Open School District Gymnastics Championship, the Mayorites brought laurels to the School by winning positions in both categories - girls and boys, amongst 270 participants from the renowned institutions. 

On August 9-10, 2017, the above said competition was held at Sports College, Jalandhar.

Inter School Zonal Soccer Tournament ( 2nd August 2017)

Winning a match does not only declares you a winner but boosts your moarale, gives a new hike to your confidence and motivated you to do even better.

The soccer team (U-14) and (U-17)won the show by defeating the respective opponent teams of Lyallpur Khalsa  Senior Secondary  School, Nakodar Road in Inter School Zonal Soccer Tournament, held at Eklavya School on 2nd August, 2017. Both the teams won  the matche by 2-0 and qualified for the District  Matches. on 2nd July, 2017. Both the teams won  the matche by 2-0 and qualified for the District  Matches.

ICCC Open Chess Tournament (5th & 6th August 2017)

Tanmay Jain (V) clinched First position in ICCC Open Chess Tournament held in Cambridge Co- Educational School on 5-6 August,2017

He bagged the title amongst 250 students.

Punjab State Open Chess Championship, Tanmay Jain (31st July 2017)

 We feel proud to share that Tanmay Jain of grade V  bagged 1st position in Punjab State Open Chess Championship under 11 category, held at Sunam on 30th and 31st July 2017. He is the State winner for four consecutive years.

Tanmay Jain  has been an undisputed champion for the last four years.

In Open Inter School Roller Skating Championship held on July 27, 2017 at Police D.A.V. School, the following students bagged various prizes. 

# Aahana (VII) and Rishika (IX)got First position in Inline.
# Kabir Sood ( I) got First position and Hridhaan (I)got Second position in quads.

#Mannat(IV) and Syna clinched Second position in quads.

nter House Golf Tournament Grades III to V (24th July 2017)

 


To keep up the performance of the students in the game of golf, Inter House Golf Tournament (III-V) was held in the school campus on 24 July, 2017.

Noor Randhawa and Navtej Singh from Shakespeare House grabbed the first position,  the second position was clinched by Adhiraj and Virkaran Singh from Wordsworth House.  The third position was secured by Gunraj and Sumeru from Keats House.

World Junior Golf Tournament (16th to 20th July 2017)

Kuldeep Singh Dhesi of grade V participated in IJGA (International Junior Golf Academy) World Stars of Junior Golf Tournament from 16th to 20th July 2017 held at Las Vegas, Nevada, JW Marriott, USA. We feel proud to share that he bagged 7th position in the age group 9 to 10 years in the World’s most prestigious Golf Tournament. 26 Countries participated in the Tournament. Congratulations to the proud parents.

Inter House Soccer Tournament Grades VI to VII (21st July 2017)

An Inter House Soccer Tournament was organised in the School for grades (VI'VII), on 21st July, 2017, in which all the four Houses participated enthusiastically.
In a neck by neck competition, Shakespeare bagged Ist position, the second position was clinched by Wordsworth House whereas the third position was grabbed by Dickens House.

We are proud to share that Ribhav Verma of Grade VA won “The Milkha Singh Junior Golf Championship” held at Chandigarh on 23rd May 2017 under 10 years category. He has been sponsored by Jeev Milkha Singh to participate in “U.S Kids World Golf Championship” to be held at Pinehurst, NC, USA from 3rd August to 5th August 2017. It’s a proud moment for all of us. Jalandhar District Open Chess Championship (27th & 28th May, 2017)

Championship was organised by Punjab Kesri group held at DLF Galleria on 27th and 28th May. Divyam Puri of Grade IV made us proud by bagging Third position in Under 11 boys category. Rushil Jain of grade II also won 3rd position in under 7 years category in chess along with Divyam.

Open Inter School Skating Championship, Pathankot (19th May, 2017)

 

Mayor World School always inspires the students and offers a multitude of activities to hone and present their skills in all domains.
The students have made the school proud by clinching top positions in Open Inter School Skating Championship held at J.M.K. International School, Pathankot on May 19, 2017. 
 About three hundred participants from different schools actively took part in the competition. Four students brought laurels to the school by performing in different categories. They were awarded the Trophies.
Syna Aggarwal of Grade V-notched the first position In Quad,
Adhiraj Gandhi of Grade V also bagged the first position in Roll Ball,
Vaibhav of Grade V scored the second position in Quad and 
Gurjaap Singh of Grade V got the second position in Inline.

Inter House Soccer Competition ( 15th & 16th May, 2017 )

“SUCCESS ISN’T GIVEN. IT’S EARNED.”

 An Inter House Soccer tournament (Boys) was held on 15th and 16th of May 2017 in the campus of Mayor World School for the classes IX to XII.

The main aim of this match was to inculcate some positive values like teamwork, sportsmanship among the students, and to provide a vehicle for social, physical, emotional and moral learning.

Keats House and Dickens House made to the finals; however Dickens House grabbed the victory by winning the final match.. Keats house bagged the second position and Shakespeare house third position in this tournament

The game tactics and the team spirits were appreciated and the winners were awarded with certificates and trophies

Inter House Yoga Competition (9th to 12th May, 2017)

Yoga is an art of living that aims towards a healthy mind that resides in a healthy body. It makes us strong, flexible, peaceful and healthy

To develop a sense of well being, increase the mental concentration of the students and to create a harmony between mind and body, an Inter House Yoga Competition was organized on 9th and 12th of May 2017 in Mayor World School for the classes I and II.

Venya (II-D) from Keats House bagged the first position and Shreya (II-B) from Wordsworth House got the second position.

The initiative, interest and the flexibility of the students were applauded and the winners were awarded with certificates.

“Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn “

An Inter House Basketball Competition (Boys) was organized in the premises of Mayor World School on 5th and 9th of May 2017 for the classes VI to VIII.

The main focus of holding this competition was to display the skills of the students and to build the sportsmanship among them. Keats House grabbed a triumphant victory by winning the competition, Dickens House got the second position points and Wordsworth got the third position .

 

The skills and the efforts of the participants were applauded by the worthy Principal. The winners were felicitated with trophies and certificates.

In Inter House Lawn Tennis Tournament for Girls, in U- 14 category,  the matches were played on and following is the result.

# The III position was secured by Tanmay  (grade IV C) of Dickens House.
Amongst girls the various positions were clinched by the following.

Tanmay Jain, The Chess Champion ( 31st March - 10th April 2017 )

Winning isn't everything,  it's the only thing.
Tanmay Jain (IV) brought laurels to the school and the nation by clinching a Bronze medal in Asian Youth Chess Championship, held in Uzbekistan, from March 31st- April 10, 2017. In under-10 category, the participants from nearly 15 countries took part in the championship.  Tanmay was awarded the title of ' Candidate Master', and it is the first step of his journey towards the title of 'Grand Master'.

In Open Tennis Championship held at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, from January 26-30, 2017, Mayorites set the following  benchmarks.

whereas in Open Tennis Championship for boys, Ajit Singh Hundal (V) clinched Ist position in U-10 category amongst 16 teams.

The game of Golf fetched laurels to the school When Yalisai Verma (X)     won first position in Maharaj Krishna North Zone Junior Golf Tournament, under category B.

Ribhav Verma (IV) also bagged 1st position in Maharaj Krishna North Zone Junior Golf Tournament, under D category. The competition held from 19 to 20 January,  2017.

Sahodaya Inter School Tennis Tournament ( 22nd to 24th October, 2016 ) 

In Sahodya Inter School Tennis Tournament held at the Mayor World School from Oct 22-24, 2016 the Mayorites set benchmarks by winning in various categories:

Ø  In under-14 girls Prabhjot (VC) and Kashvi (VIC), harneet (VC)and Rubab (VIC) bagged III position amongst 8 teams.

Ø  In Under-14 boys Sahib (VIIA) Rabdeep (VIIID), Ajit (VC) and Gurkirat (VI C) got 1st position amongst 14 teams.

 

Ø  In  Under-19 girls Aneet (XB), Anhad (IXA), Ayushi (IXB) and Ashmin (VIIA) got 3rd position amongst 8 teams.

 

Mayor World has always provided a platform for the budding players. The School organized Sahodaya Inter School Tennis Tournament from 22nd to 24th October, 2016. The tournament was culminated with much fervor and joy. 

Sixteen schools participated in the tournament from Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur Nawashahar and Phagwara. The participants played enthusiastically in their respective categories.
The Principal Mr. J.S. Hundal presided over the sports event. He also admired the sportsmanship of the players.


Under the 4 categories, players represented their schools. The categories were – Under 14 age group and under 19 age group for both boys and girls. The winners were awarded medals and certificates.


In under 14 age group (Girls), the winner was M.G.N. Urban Estate-2 Jalandhar. The second position was bagged by was Cambridge School for Girls, Jalandhar and the third position was held by
 Mayor World School, Jalandhar and Cambridge Co-education, Jalandhar.


In under 14 age group (Boys), the winner was Mayor World School, Jalandhar. The second position was bagged by was Apee Jay School, Jalandhar and the third position was bagged by 
Cambridge Co-education, Jalandhar. and M.G.N. Public School Adarsh Nagar, Jalandhar.


Under 19 age group (Girls) the winner was D.P.S, Jalandhar. The second position was bagged by Cambridge School for Girls and the third position was bagged by 
Mayor World School, Jalandhar and M.G.N. Urban Estate-2.

 

Under 19 age group (Boys), the winner was Police D.A.V., Jalandhar followed by Cambridge Co-education, Jalandhar whereas the third position was bagged by M.G.N. Urban Estate-2 and A.P.J. School, Jalandhar.


Overall Trophy bagged jointly by Mayor World School, Jalandhar and M.G.N. Urban Estate, Phase-II, Jalandhar.


The Principal Mr. J.S.Hundal felicitated the winners and applauded their enthusiasm. He motivated the players to aspire to play at national and international levels. Also appreciated the students and their efforts and wished them good luck for their future.

In Punjab Board District Jalandhar  Table Tennis Tournament, held at La Blossom on October 20-23, 2016  the budding players brought laurels.

 

Ø  Nimish (7B), Aryan (7A), Arshit (7A), Soumil (8D) and Arnav (7A) got 3rd position in Under-14 boys amongst 16 teams.

 

Ø  Prerna (10A), Prarthna (9B), Harnoor (7B), and Mishti (7B) bagged 3rd position in Under-17 girls amongst 5 teams.

He bagged II position in F.H.R. Junior Golf Championship held at Forest Hill Golf Course, on October 11, 2016.

# Gurpreet Singh ( VC ) bagged II position amongst 20 participants in category D.

# Ekveer Singh (IIIB) grabbed two titles in category E. He got II  position in the competition amongst 15 participants  and received the special prize' Nearest to the pin'.

In Open Inter School Roller Skating  Championship, held at the campus of Lovely Professional University on October 2, 2016, the Mayorites not only bagged prizes in various competitions but also clinched the Over All Trophy too.

World Golf Championship ( 4th to 6th August'16 )

A shining star on the horizon of Golf brought laurels to the school as well as to the nation.

Kuldeep Singh Dhesi,  a grade IV student proved his mattle and clinched 17th position in the U.S. Kids World Golf Championship 2016,held in the U.S.A., from August 4-6, 2016, in his category-E. 

He bagged this position giving a tough competition to the 47 participants in the category.

India Golf Union Tournament  ( 27 July'16 ) 

Ribhav Verma (IV) a rising star on the horizon of Golf, set new benchmarks.
Ribhav won 4 IGU tournaments in row, in a month.
1.Won the ATS Champions Junior Golf  Challenge under category-E, held at Dera Bassi, on May 28-30, 2016.
2. Next achievement was Champions Junior Golf Challenge, under category- E,at Chandigarh, on June 1-3, 2016.
3.Won the RSGA Junior Champions, Golf Challenge under category-E, held from 13-15 June, at Srinagar Golf Course.
4. Last in the row was Pehalgam Juniors Golf Challengen category-E,held at Pahalgam, from 17- 19 June,2016.


The journey of success didn't stop here....Ribhav Verma  clinched the No 1 ranking at the National level and brought laurels.

In the Punjab State Chess Championship, organised by Jalandhar Chess Association  (Punjab), held on July 16-17, 2016, the Mayorites proved their mattle once again, amongst 140 participants, and made their way to the upcoming National Chess  Championship.
In the competition the following students made their mark.
*Tanmay Jain (IV) bagged First Position amongst 32 participants in the category U- 11
*Vidit Jain (III)received II position in U-9 category.

In Punjab State Karate Championship, organised by Aadarsh Palace Jalandhar, onMay 8,2016 the two young Mayorites, with their concentration and constant  efforts, bagged two positions in their respective categories :

#Harmehar (VI A) clinched III position  in under-11 category.

#Ayush Nanda ( VB ) won III position in under-II category.

Himatjeet Singh ( XIIA) made everyone  proud by winning a Bronze medal along with a cash prize of rs 12000 in Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Fencing Open Championship held at Patiala, from Feb 14-19, 2016.

Chess Championship ( 14 & 15 May'16 ) 

Tournaments encourage the students and also help them ascertain their own skills. They also help the students to bring out the best in themselves and strive for the better. The surprising outcomes which are a result of the sweat of their brow instill in them self-confidence and pride.

Jalandhar District Chess Championship, organized by Jalandhar Chess Association was held at Mayor World School on 14th and 15th May, 2016. The Championship was be divided into three categories namely Under-9, Under-15 and Under-25. The residents of Jalandhar District under the above mentioned age categories participated in the tournament. There were separate tournaments for boys and girls. The entire Tournament was governed as per the latest FIDE laws of Chess. The Tournament was presided over by the School Vice Chairperson Mrs. Neerza Mayor and Principal Mr. J.S. Hundal who were constantly present to motivate the participants who had come from all over the city and outside.

 

Mayor World School not only provided the venue for this prestigious tournaments but also undertook all the cumbersome responsibilities right that from registering the students to providing the supplies and presenting the awards. It was also comfortable haven for these players who could think patiently and make the winning moves.

 

The Mayorites made their presence marked by winning the following titles.

  1.  Vidit Jain (III C) bagged II position  in under-9 category.
  2.  Divyam Puri (III A) clinched  III position in under -9 category.
  3.  Sanchi Gupta  (IX C) won II position in under -25 category.
  4.  Tanvi Mahendru  (IX C) grabbed III Position in under -25 category.

UCMAS Achievers State level Competition ( 24 April 2016 ) 

 

Calculations are a piece of cake for Suvan Gupta. He bagged the 7th position in Level 8, in UCMAS State Level Competition held on April 24, 2016.

Nearly 2000 participants from approximately 30 academies participated in the competition.

Golf is a game that combines the wonders of nature and discipline of sports.

Mayorites bought laurels to the School by winning various prizes in the British School Cup Golf Tournament held at Golf Club Chandigarh, on April 4, 201. The achivements are as follows.

  • Yalisai Verma ( XA ) clinched 2nd position in category B. She also bagged a special prize for Maximum Par.
  • Zoravar Singh Star ( VIIC ) got 2nd position in category C.

The contestants from all over Punjab and Chandigarh participated in the tournsment.
