It is not how smart you are that matters, what really counts is how you are smart.

Dr. Howard Gardner, the founder of Multiple Intelligences Theory believed anything that is worth teaching can be presented in many different ways. An understanding of which types of intelligence a student may possess can help teachers acclimatise themselves to diverse learning styles, resulting in positive learning outcomes.

Enlightening the teachers with the implementation of multiple intelligences in everyday teaching, Mayor World School in collaboration with Hubs of Learning conducted a three day virtual workshop from 3rd June 2021 to 5th June 2021 titled ‘Multiple Intelligences in Pedagogy’. The workshop was organised for teachers of Upper Primary (day 1), Primary (day 2) and Pre-Primary levels (day 3). Educators from six different schools of Jalandhar under Hubs of Learning enthusiastically participated in these engrossing sessions. The resource persons through insightful PowerPoint presentations emphasised on the importance of recognising the dominant skills in the students.

On Day 1, Ms Nidhi Bhambri, Department of Science, held the workshop on the topic ‘Sexual Reproduction in Plants’. She beautifully expounded the multifarious ways by which the conceptual understanding of the students could be enhanced keeping in mind the Multiple Intelligences.

Day 2 witnessed an enthralling session on the topic ‘Prepositions’ by Ms Shubhangi Khosla, Department of English. She exquisitely illustrated the use of Multiple Intelligences in teaching methodology with the help of hands on and interactive activities.

Day 3 was filled with vibrancy and flamboyance as Ms Preena Sablok of Mayor Galaxy splendidly taught the topic ‘Colours’ leaving the audience entranced with her spell binding activities.

The three day workshop left all the educators brimming with enthusiasm to use the taught techniques in their lesson plans.
