“Thou has a thousand eyes and yet one eye; Thou host a thousand forms and yet not one form”.

To commemorate the birth anniversary of the founder of Sikhism, Shri Guru Nanak Dev JI, Mayor World School celebrated the day with immense devotion and veneration on 23rd November 2023.

On the auspicious occasion, the students of Mayor Galaxy and Grade  I-III came to school in white and saffron attires. The students of Grade II and III were also dressed up as ‘Panj Pyaras’. The tiny tots recited mool  mantra and explained its   meaning as well. A soothing Kirtan was also sung by the educators. The chanting of the hymns created a tranquil and placid ambience. The students also recited poems, highlighting the occasion of Gurupurab. The Director, Ms Sarita Madhok and the Deputy Vice Principal, Ms. Charu Trehan interacted with the students and made them aware about the teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

 Since it was a special day, the programme was followed by langar sewa. Langar, the food prepared by the people, is served to everyone, regardless of their religion, caste or community. Along with Langar, the mouth-watering ‘Karah Prasad’ was also served.

It proclaimed that the essence of religion is engaging human beings to constantly remember the divine at all times and at all places.

The Vice Chairperson, Ms. Neerza Mayor blessed the students and  stated  that such activities hold a great importance as these  connect the present generation with their roots.
