Echoing this vision of John F Kennedy, Mayor World School organised a virtual Inter House English Debate Competition on 22nd January 2022 .The topic of the debate was the controversial statement, ” Celebrities should not be allowed to endorse products and services.” The competition was conducted under the guidance of the charismatic Director ,Ms Sarita Madhok and the vivacious Principal, Ms Harjeet Kaur Ghuman.The esteemed judges were Ms Indira Arora and Ms Tanupriya ,both masters in the field of English,with years of experience under their belt.
The students of each team vocalised their agreement and disagreement on this topic in a strong,cohesive and above all convincing manner.They justified their take with coherence and belief which had the audience spellbound and mesmerised till the very end. The listeners were given the pros and cons of both the sides with utmost sincerity ,using evidences which were undeniably sound and irrefutable.The result compilation was undeniably a mammoth task and the rebuttal round proved to be the deciding factor.Keats House comprising Abhavya Gupta (IX A) and Sakhi Gupta (X A) emerged victorious with a substantial lead followed by Wordsworth House at the second position.Gaurish Sablok(X A)from Wordsworth House was declared the best speaker.The Vice Chairperson,Ms Neerza Mayor congratulated the winners and appreciated the sincere endeavours of all the participants.The Director ,Ms.Sarita Madhok and all the senior dignitaries also extolled the participants for their quick wit and witty repartee.
