These walks aim to provide students with a deeper understanding of the rich cultural and historical heritage of our country.
The students of Class VI visited the Moorish Mosque in Kapurthala ,which is an excellent example of architectural marvel and cultural significance.It is among the best mosques in South East Asia .Through this visit, the students gained insights into the Islamic heritage, architecture and traditions.They were enamoured by beautiful and serene interiors , and the inner domes and the mehrab , exquisitely painted by art students from Mayo School of Art in Lahore.
The students of Class IX explored the rich heritage and history of Chappar Chiri,which has a special place in Sikh history.Chappar Chiri is a small village located in the Mohali district of Punjab.Baba Banda Singh Bahadur War Memorial at Chappar Chiri is a befitting tribute to the brave Sikh warrior under whose command the Battle of Chappar Chiri was fought between the Sikhs and the forces of Mughal Empire led by Wazir Khan in May 1710. The students learnt about this pivotal event in Punjab’s history.
Overall, it was an enriching experience for the students to visit these places of historical significance.
