Ebullience and zest cocooned the purlieu of Mayor World School as the School organised its Season-IV of Mayorite Cricket League T10, for all the extraordinary and most endearing fathers of the Mayorites. The purpose of this entire event was to strengthen the bonds with a game admired by all and bring back the liveliness which the monotonous routine takes away.
The fun filled cricket tournament was played among six passionate teams- Challengers, Scoring Willows, Game Changers, Pitch Smashers, Fantastic 11 and Fire Balls. All the teams performed spectacularly well. This thrilling event had its monumental finale on Saturday, 16th March 2024. The nerve-wrecking final match was played between Team Scoring Willows and Team Challenger.
The finale team captains Kranti Jain (Team Challenger) and Harkanwal Singh ( Scoring Willows) toss was won by team Challengers and they decided to bowl first. The game was thrilling with both teams playing wholeheartedly.
Defeating the team Challengers, the team Scoring Willows emerged triumphant making a spectacular total of 156 runs in 12 overs for 6 wicket. Team Challengers made 153 runs and losing 7 wickets in 12 overs.
The valedictory ceremony took place in the presence of the
Director Ms. Sarita Madhok, the Deputy Vice Principal Ms. Charu Trehan and the management of the school. Commemorating the successful culmination of the league, the talented teachers of the school presented a melodious symphony gleaming with the feelings of teamwork and togetherness. The phenomenal dance performance by the magnificent group of Mayorites enthralled the audience. The Director acknowledged the notable role of the sponsors and the commentators in making the league an outstanding event.
Special awards were presented to ardent cricketers who were declared the ‘ Man of the Match’ for the matches played during the tournament, Mr. Arshdeep Singh (Game Changers),Mr. Kranti Jain(Team Challenger),Mr. Manveer Singh Juneja (Scoring Willows), Mr. Kranti Singh (Team Challenger) ,Mr. Gagan Jot Singh( Scoring Willows) and Mr. Divakar Verma( Fire Balls).
‘Man of the Match’ of today’s winning team Scoring Willows was given to Mr. Gagan Jot Singh. Studding the league with fours and sixes, Mr. Kranti Jain of Team Challenger was awarded the Best Batsman Trophy. Mr. Mukul Ohri of Team Challenger was felicitated with the trophy of the Best Bowler of the tournament. The Man of the Series award was won by Mr. Kranti Jain (Team Challenger). The runner up team was presented with trophies and medals.
The HOD Ms Kulwinder kaur and the other members of Department of Sports were profoundly acknowledged for the success of the event.
The Director extolled all the teams for their phenomenal display of team effort and persistence in making this league a victorious event. The wonderful league ended with the singing of National Anthem.
