Weaving Wisdom – Young Minds Spin Hindi Yarns
To nurture the joy of self-expression and promote creative thinking among students, an Inter-House Hindi “Spin a Yarn” competition was organised for Grades III to V at Mayor World School, on 29th July 2025.
The event provided a platform for budding storytellers to showcase their creativity, linguistic flair, and moral reasoning.The young vibrant storytellers came forth with wonderful tales and enthralled the listeners with their extraordinary narrative skills. Prompt for the story was provided to the participants on the spot .The stories were adjudged on basis of content, creativity, presentation and confidence.
The participants represented their respective houses – Dickens, Keats, Shakespeare, and Wordsworth – with each team comprising four students. The exercise not only encouraged creative thinking and collaboration but also celebrated the expressive depth and grace of the Hindi language.
The event was judged by Ms. Sabhita Sood, Head of the Department of Hindi , and Ms. Sunita Bhalla from the Department of Punjabi.They commended the students’ spontaneous storytelling and the thoughtful messages woven into each narrative.
The Vice Principal , Ms. Charu Trehan, announced the much-awaited results. Wordsworth House emerged victorious with stellar performances from Harleen Kaur (III-A), Geetakshi Jain (IV-A), Shivam (V-B), and Hunar Kaur Bains (V-D). Dickens House secured the second position, exhibiting commendable creativity and teamwork.
The School Management extended heartfelt congratulations to the winners and extolled all the participants for their remarkable efforts. Special appreciation was accorded to the Department of Hindi for organising an engrossing and emotionally engaging competition that highlighted the beauty and relevance of the Hindi language.
