In a dedicated effort to raise awareness about financial literacy and the use of digital tools, Mayor World School organised an informative workshop on 12th September 2024, within the school premises, specifically for the educators.
The session was led by the esteemed CBSE Resource Person, Mr. Jaswinder Singh Sohal, a retired manager from Punjab and Sind Bank. The event commenced with a warm welcome extended to the guest speaker and the participants.
CBSE has initiated this programme to sensitise teachers on the fundamentals of financial literacy and the relevant digital tools in today’s scenario. The session aimed to create awareness about basic financial planning, and how to avoid falling prey to phishing and cyber frauds. This initiative helps educators stay updated, plan their future more effectively, and share their newfound knowledge and experiences with students, ensuring they handle finances vigilantly.
The teachers were given valuable information about the importance of SIPs, Shares, and Mutual Funds. It helped them a great deal in understanding the investment options for a secure financial future.The practical tips on handling finances were also effective.
The session was enriched with real-life experiences and anecdotes, making it highly engaging. It was interactive throughout, with teachers actively clarifying their doubts and receiving satisfactory answers.
The School Management concluded the event by felicitating the guest speaker with a book and a planter, as a token of appreciation.
