Diwali, the festival of lights is celebrated with a lot of zest and fervour in every nook and corner of India. It not only marks the victory of good over evil but also signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance and hope over despair.
Diwali celebrations at school often mean a festive look with diyas and lanterns adorning the classroom, corridors and playground. The exuberant students of Mayor Galaxy celebrated the festival of Diwali by taking active part in ‘The DIWALI DIORAMA’ competition held on 6th November 2023 in the school premises.
It was a delightful endeavour specifically designed for the parents and their children to partake in. This creative competition invited participants to craft a captivating Diwali scene within the provided space. It proved to be an exciting opportunity for the parents and their wards to showcase their artistic talents and immerse themselves in the joyous spirit with great enthusiasm. The teams showcased various scenes of Diwali like Ayodhya scene, Ram darbar, Ramayan and many more.
It started with a welcome dance performed by the talented Mayorites of KG I and KG II. The competition was judged by Ms.Ambika Thakur, a multidisciplinary artist and educator specialised in applied art and performing art and Ms. Aakriti Kapoor, a freelance artist & service manager.
Anaisha Gupta (KG I ) bagged the first position. The second position was shared by Ishita Chopra( KG I) and Ishani Chopra (KG I) , followed by Advik Malhotra ( KG I) securing the third position.
The participants and winners were full of great ardour and zeal. It was a delightful experience for the students and their parents which filled everyone’s hearts with the cheerful spirit. Refreshments were also served at the end of the event.
The Vice Chairperson, Ms.Neerza Mayor congratulated the winners and stated “ Competition and celebration like this is a shining example of the spirit of unity and cultural diversity, leaving a lasting memory for all those who participated.”
The Director, Ms.Sarita Madhok wished the students a blessed and gleaming Diwali. The Deputy Vice Principal, Ms.Charu Trehan also propagated the message of a clean ,safe and glistening Diwali.The School Management commended the convener of the event, Ms Preena Sablok and the educators of Mayor Galaxy for the splendid show.
