On Independence Day, we commemorate our heroes and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation to restore our dignity and freedom.

Grateful hearts of Mayor World School celebrated 77th Independence Day with great zealand patriotic fervour on Tuesday, 15th August 2023.  The programme commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony. The Vice Chairperson, Ms Neerza Mayor  hoisted  the National  Flag with great  pride and ardour. The Director Sarita Madhok addressed the august gathering and urged the students to maintain high ethical standards and contribute towards strengthening of the nation in all its dimensions.

The Annual Inter House Dance Competition (Grade VI-XII) was also organised, exhibiting significant messages related to the country. Teams from all the four Houses   presented their eloquent dance-dramas. They expressed their sentiments and aspirations for the country through their mesmerising performances.

Keats House staged a resplendent dance show, ‘Nrityam’ depicting dance as the symbol of Unity in Diversity. Dickens House presented ‘Azaadi Ki Kahani’ in an inspiring manner. ‘Kal Aaj Aur Kal’  by Shakespeare House showed the journey from the  pre-independence era to the  present, further moving to future time, in an engrossing manner. ‘Ek Aasha Ek Kiran’ showcased by Wordsworth House presented the  problem of Brain Drain in an efficacious manner.

The parents were captivated by the beautiful    acts and encouraged the children with applause.

This neck and neck competition was judged by Mr.Gaggun Bedi, the Chief Technical Director of All India Federation and Ms Riya Sarangal from the Department of Music and Dance. The judges profusely commended all the teams for their vigour and exquisite performances.

The first position was shared by Keats House and Shakespeare House. WordsWorth House stood second, followed by Dickens at the third position.

The Vice Chairperson congratulated the winners for their immaculate performances and appreciated all the teams for their strenuous endeavours.

The Director and the Deputy Vice Principal also extolled the painstaking efforts of all the houses.

The grandoise event ended with the vote of thanks followed by the National Anthem.
