On Independence Day , we glorify the thoughts and philosophies of Indian freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the restoration of our dignity and freedom.
To instill a deep sense of patriotism , grateful hearts of Mayor World School celebrated 78th Independence Day with a great zeal and patriotic fervour on 15th August 2024,Thursday. The Vice Chairperson, Ms Neerza Mayor hoisted the National Flag with great pride and delivered an impassioned address to the assembled audience.
An Annual Inter House Dance Competition for the students of Grades VI-XII was also organised, exhibiting varied significant themes .Teams of talented dancers from all the four Houses presented their eloquent dance interpretations and enthralled the audience .
Shakespeare House staged an amazing dance show, ‘ Mythology’ whereas Dickens House presented ‘Seasons ‘ in an inspiring manner. ‘Bharat Ka Naya Daur’ by Keats House showcased the journey of India from the pre-independence era to the present, in an engrossing manner. ‘ Festivals ’ by Wordsworth House presented diversity of Indian culture .The parents were mesmerised by the splendid performances and encouraged the performers with applause.
The contest was judged by ‘Ms Ambika Thakur ’, a multidisciplinary artist and educator from Punjab , and Ms Khushi Batra , a diploma holder in Kathak from the National Institute of Delhi . The judges generously commended all the teams for their vigorous and exquisite performances.
The first position was bagged by Keats House followed by Wordsworth at the second position. The outstanding performers included Jasmine Kaur (IX-B) from Dickens House, Mahim Goel (X-D) and Sahiba Makkar (XII-C) from Shakespeare House, Sanchit Chanana( VIII-C) from Keats House, and Suhaan Jain (IX-D) from Wordsworth House. Their exceptional contributions were celebrated as the best performances.”
The School Management congratulated the winners for their immaculate performances and appreciated all the teams for their creative endeavours.The opulent event ended with the vote of thanks followed by the National Anthem.
