Eloquence Challenge – I Inspire: A Platform to Inspire and Make a Difference
To foster the art of public speaking and inspire a positive change, Mayor World School organised an “Inter House Eloquence Challenge – I Inspire” on 3rd May 2024. The competition was tailored for students in Grades VI to VIII and IX to XII which aimed to provide a platform for young minds to showcase their eloquence and creativity.
A team consisting of two contestants from each house participated in both categories. Each participant delivered concise one-minute speech like the renowned TED Talks, in English. The focus of their speech was to inspire and make a positive impact on the audience.
To ensure fairness and originality, participants were required to deliver an entirely original speech, avoiding any form of plagiarism.
The event was honoured by the presence of the Vice Chairperson Ms. Neerza Mayor, the Director Ms. Sarita Madhok, and the Deputy Vice Principal Ms. Charu Trehan.
The judging criteria for this challenge included the relevance of the topic chosen, delivery skills, audience impact, and body language. The esteemed judges, Ms. Neerza Mayor and Ms. Sarita Madhok meticulously evaluated the participants’ performances according to the aforementioned criteria.
Finally the results were declared by the jury in which Shakespeare House comprising Zia Kapoor (VII-B) and Kudrat Noor (VIII-B) emerged victorious in the first category. In the second category, Dickens House including Maureen Jain (X D) and Cheryl (XI B) attained the first position. Kudrat Noor( VIII -B) from Shakespeare House and Abhavya Gupta ( XII-B) from Keats house were declared the best orators.
The “Eloquence Challenge – I Inspire” was an event filled with insightful and inspirational speeches, showcasing the talent and potential of eloquent Mayorites.
The School Management congratulated the winners and appreciated the contestants for their efficacious endeavours.
