Mayor World School organised the Inter-House English Duo Extempore for Grades VI to VIII on 23rd July 2026, showcasing the spontaneous eloquence and collaborative spirit of its learners. The event brought together participants from all the Houses, who impressed the audience and judges alike with their confident delivery, expressive articulation, and thoughtful content.The teams spoke on thought‑provoking topics such as:
- Artificial Intelligence: A friend or a threat?
- Social Media: A boon or a bane
- Are marks the true measure of intelligence?
- The Power of Kindness
These themes not only tested the participants’ ability to think on their feet but also encouraged them to reflect on issues of contemporary relevance.
The event was adjudicated by the Special Educator, Ms. Pooja Arora, and the Head of the Department of English, Ms. Tanupriya, who evaluated the participants on parameters such as content relevance, fluency, pronunciation, confidence, body language, coherence, and overall presentation.
The Vice Principal, Ms. Charu Trehan, announced the results, while the Headmistress of Mayor Galaxy, Ms.Preena Sablok , graced the occasion with her encouraging presence.Shakespeare House, comprising Hanish Singh (VI‑B) and Keyansh Kaushal (VII‑B), emerged victorious, securing the First Position, followed by Keats House in Second Place and Dickens House in Third. Among the standout performers, Rishaan Abrol of Grade VIII‑C (Keats House) was declared the Best Speaker for his clarity, poise, and persuasive expression. The comperes were also appreciated for their graceful and effective presentation.
The School Management congratulated the winners and extolled the convener for her meticulous planning and the engaging activities designed for the audience. The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving behind a resonant sense of pride and unity.
