Mayor World School hosted its Inter-House Hindi Debate Competition for students of Grades VI to VIII on 7th February 2025. The thought-provoking topic, “Can Computers Replace Teachers in the Future?” ignited spirited discussions and showcased the intellectual prowess of the participants. The competition saw enthusiastic involvement from all four Houses—Dickens, Keats, Shakespeare, and Wordsworth. Each team consisted of two students, one speaking in favour of the motion and the other against it.
The young orators captivated the judges with their compelling presentations. Ms. Sunita Bhalla and Ms. Mandeep Kaur, from the Department of Punjabi, were particularly struck by the eloquence and sharp critical thinking exhibited by each contender.
After intense rounds of debate, Wordsworth House emerged victorious with Ishmeet Kaur (VIII-A) and Agassi Rattan Singh (VI-A) leading their team to triumph. Parth Saain Sharma (VII-A) of Shakespeare House and Agassi Rattan Singh (VI-A) of Wordsworth House were acclaimed as the best speakers of the competition.
The School Management congratulated the winners for their impeccable art of articulation and commended all the teams for their eloquent performances.
This event not only showcased the students’ debating skills but also underscored the importance of critical thinking and effective communication in today’s world.
