Mayor World School, with its strong commitment to nurturing students’ oratory skills and fostering a deep appreciation for language and culture, recently organised an ‘Inter House Hindi Poem Recitation Competition’ on 30th July 2024, tailored exclusively for Grades III-V. The contest was thoughtfully themed for each grade level: ‘Changing India’ for Grade III, ‘Changing Era’ for Grade IV, and ‘Inspirational Poem’ for Grade V, aiming to encourage students to reflect on relevant and diverse themes through the art of poetry.
During the competition, each student was allotted two- three minutes for the presentation. The audience was captivated by the students’ impressive diction of words and their ability to portray the theme with inventiveness and finesse.The event was judged by Ms. Gurpreet Kaur , the Head, Department of Punjabi and Ms.Preeti Bhaskar, the Deputy Head, Department of English.Wordsworth House comprising Geetakshi Jain (III-A), Nazakat Sahni(IV-C), and Nitya Mahajan (V-E) emerged as the winner, whereas Keats House attained the second position.Aurik Mittal(IV-D) of Shakespeare House and Geetakshi Jain of Wordsworth House were declared the best speakers.
This event was designed to highlight the melodic beauty of Hindi and honour the richness of our cultural legacy, serving as a platform for students to express their creativity and delve into the depth of language and culture.
The School Management congratulated the winners and appreciated the participants for their creative endeavours.
