Mayor World School was abuzz with excitement and enthusiasm as it hosted Season V of the Mayorite Cricket League,MCL T10, a tournament dedicated to the exceptional and spirited fathers of the Mayorites. The event aimed to strengthen bonds through the love of cricket while providing a refreshing break from the monotony of daily routines.
The exhilarating tournament featured six passionate teams—Challengers, Scoring Willows, Game Changers, Pitch Smashers, Fantastic 11, and Fire Balls—each displaying remarkable skills and sportsmanship. The grand finale, held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, saw an intense face-off between the Fire Balls and the Game Changers.
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including the Honourable Chairman Mr. Rajesh Mayor,the Principal Ms. Divya Keni and theVice Principal Ms. Charu Trehan .Mr. Arvind Chopra from the Punjab Kesari Group presided over the event as the Guest of Honour.Mr. Harvinder Singh and Ms. Pallavi also attended the event as the special guests.
The final match began with team captains Mr. Ricky Shoor (Fire Balls) and Mr. Harkamal Singh (Game Changers) stepping forward for the toss. The Game Changers won the toss and opted to bowl first. The game turned into a nail-biting contest, with both teams putting their heart and soul into every delivery. Ultimately,the Game Changers emerged victorious, scoring a spectacular total of 115 runs in 11.3 overs for 6 wickets, while the Fire Balls fell just short, making 114 runs with the loss of 7 wickets in 12 overs.
To mark the successful culmination of the event, the School’s talented students exhibited a soulful musical performance, celebrating teamwork and camaraderie, while a vibrant dance performance by the Mayorites captivated the audience. The Principal and the Vice Principal also expressed gratitude to the sponsors and commentators for their invaluable contributions in making the event a grand success.
The special awards were presented to the outstanding players who earned the title of ‘Man of the Match’ in their respective games : Mr. Amit Gupta (Scoring Willows),Mr. Ricky Shoor (Fire Balls),Mr. Abhishek Gulati (Game Changers), Mr. Arshdeep Singh (Challengers), Mr. Meet Kohli (Game Changers)and Mr. Gaganjot Singh (Fire Balls).
For the final match, the ‘Man of the Match’ award was presented to Mr. Abhishek Gulati of Game Changers.
The Awards for the series were as follows :
Best Batter: Mr. Gaganjot Singh (Fire Balls), Best Bowler: Mr. Palwinder Singh (Fire Balls), Man of the Series: Mr. Amit Gupta (Scoring Willows). The runner-up team was honoured with trophies and medals, recognising their commendable performance.
The tournament’s success was credited to the relentless efforts of Ms. Kulwinder Kaur,the Head , Department of Sports and the members of the department who were profoundly appreciated for their dedication.
In her concluding remarks,the Principal, Ms. Divya Keni lauded all the teams for their exceptional display of teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship, making the series , a memorable and triumphant journey.
The grand celebration concluded on a patriotic note with the singing of the National Anthem, marking the end of yet another spectacular season of cricket at Mayor World School.
