Mayor World School conducted a special assembly for the students of Grade II on 11th March 2023.The theme of the assembly was ‘The Seven Wonders of the World’. The splendour and culture of the seven countries was portrayed by the young Mayorites in a creative manner. They shared important information about the countries and presented the folk dances in a beautiful manner . The assembly commenced with an invocation to the Almighty. The students showcased the humongous feat of humans ; The Great Wall of China. Some insightful comments on this first wonder created by man was followed by a dance performance, in which the ballerinas of Grade II left the spectators mesmerised. The next item in the itinerary was the grandeur of the Macha Picchu found in Peru. The features of this pre-Colombian ruin were well vocalised by the student.
Subsequently , the students of Grade II were honoured with accolades based on their individual personality and talent. Certificates were awarded to them by the Director, Ms Sarita Madhok and the Principal,Ms.Harjeet Kaur Ghuman.
Thereafter this gala event continued its journey with the third wonder of the world which is the largest Art Deco sculpture of Jesus Christ situated in Brazil. The words and the Brazilian dance by the young learners did full justice to this magnificent monument. Then they portrayed the amazing amphitheatre, the Colosseum in Italy. The spectators were transported to the era of gladiators with tarantella, a couple folk dance.
The Chichen Itza in Mexico, Petra in Jordan and The Taj Mahal in India were also presented in a magnificent manner.
The cultural fest ended with vote of thanks extended by the Deputy Vice- Principal, Ms Charu Trehan expressing gratitude towards the coordinator, teachers , students and above all, the parents.The Vice Chairperson Ms.Neerza Mayor congratulated the achievers and motivated them to excel in their lives with diligence and persistence.
The event ended with singing of the National Anthem followed by a delectable breakfast.
